A light source aimed specifically at the naval market. Its five individual sections can all be used individually as torches in the case of a black out on board. The form is derived from the shape of a hull, echoing the environment it is used in. Each individual section contains an LED light source at the bottom and a larger glass part on top that helps refract the light. The base contains inductive charging coils that keep the magnetically attached sections charged.
Block Model
The block model was made from layered MDF which was hand formed into the final shape. Once the solid was the right shape, the layers were separated again, revealing the individual sections of the light source. Metal was then added to the base and magnets were added to the sections, after which the whole model was painted.
